The hurricane has passed, but many families are still suffering

It has been almost a year since Hurricane Melissa devastated families and communities in Jamaica, yet for many, recovery is far from over. Families are still struggling to rebuild, replace what was lost, and meet every day needs.

On Saturday, September 19, Jengar Helping Hands Foundation will host a Children’s Treat & Community Health Fair in Albert Town, Trelawny, bringing much-needed support to families from Albert Town and surrounding communities.

This Hurricane Melissa Relief effort will provide health checkups for adults and children, school supplies, community resources, children’s activities, food, giveaways, and access to essential services from participating agencies.

Beyond the supplies and services, we want families to know one important thing: they have not been forgotten.
We need your help. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us reach another child, another parent, another family still trying to recover.

Giving back has always been a passion for the Henderson family. Jennifer Henderson and her husband, Dave, migrated to the United States seven years ago. However, Jennifer, who is from St Ann, and Dave, who is from St Mary, continue to give back to their communities here in Jamaica.

Jennifer, who is driven by the mantra, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’, is a dedicated and devout Christian. At the helm, she is passionate about helping others win and succeed.
